After Mom passed in March of this year, I inherited all of hers and her Mother's jewelry. There is a bit of fine jewelry, but more fascinating is the large amount of costume jewelry. 90% of the costume jewelry belonged to my Grandmother.
She was born in early 1900's, so any amount of jewelry that would have likely been accumulated from 30's to 70's (late). She died in early 80's. She seemed to LOVE brooches, Canadian Maple leaves, etc.
This is a pin with matching clip on earrings. No marks found. I'm not sure how to refer to the 'type' of pendant and earrings. All depict the beautiful profile of a woman in tribal-esque headwear.
I'd love to know the time period. No markings found anywhere.
Very pretty! 1940s-1960s perhaps, judging from the quality of the pin back on the brooch.
Thanks Efesgirl...am I the ONLY person on here who has a window open for indirect sunlight, item on white background but still manage to cover the items with shawdows invariably? LOL...You are right about the actual pin part - it is, so far that I can recall the oldest looking one in the bunch.
Thanks nutsabotas6 - It really is an intriguing set. I think the woman is lovely and wish so much that I knew where my grandmother had acquired this.
