fter Mom passed in March of this year, I inherited all of hers and her Mother's jewelry. There is a bit of fine jewelry, but more fascinating is the large amount of costume jewelry. 90% of the costume jewelry belonged to my Grandmother.
She was born in early 1900's, so any amount of jewelry that would have likely been accumulated from 30's to 70's (late). She died in early 80's. She seemed to LOVE brooches, Canadian Maple leaves, etc.
This necklace and earrings I've hesitated to post as I'm not sure that it can be considered Vintage much less what it could be made of. Any ideas?
So many kind friends helped identify that each one of these beads was HAND PAINTED (that was painstaking) Venetian glass beads and true 'keepers'. Millefiori design.
Venetian glass necklace and earrings....definitely vintage.....love them!!! Each bead and the earrings were made by hand.
The design is called Millefiori.
Oh wow....by hand!!! We had them in a small container of necklaces we were going to give away (my Mom has MANY Avon necklaces) but at the last minute since I noticed the earrings were clip on's so they belonged to my grandmother..I thought I'd take the chance and post.

nutsabotas5 know a lot about so many things! So he's the go to Avon person...I think I'll take pics before getting ready to just toss them to people.
Vintage Avon pieces can be very collectible.
I would keep them!!
Thanks, lentilka11, my husband kept saying he thought there was something special. He was an artist for a long time so based on the fact he kept pulling this necklace out of our 'maybe give to others pile', that was one reason I decided to post and I'm so glad that I did!
