Painting with an interesting frame

I picked up this painting at a flea market a couple months ago. no signature but there is some impressed writing on the back which doesn't show in a photo. i'll have to figure out how to get that - probably a pencil rubbed over a piece of tissue paper. the painting has kind of grown on me since i've had it.
