My Mom passed a few months ago and I inherited hers and her Mother's jewelry (my maternal Grandmother). Among the jewelry I also have some of my Grandfather's things such as coins he has from various parts of the world. He was in the Army Air Corp for a long time and flew with the Royal Air Force in England during WW II.
My Grandfather continued his travels throughout the world and the US ultimately reaching "full bird Colonel' rank. My biggest memory of him, as my Dad was in the Air Force so I was an AF brat and we moved about every 2 yrs, is he always had to have coins in his pocket. He'd keep hands tucked into both pant pockets and jingle the coins. :)
I took pics of the coins I found in a very old jewelry box (World coins) although I guess I need to take pics of a few US Coins and post elsewhere. He also hand a few Moroccan bank notes? (are they called notes?) Unsure if those are worth taking pics of or not. Seems to be a ton online.
Here's my 1st pic - have no clue if World or US coin..coin just has 25 0n both sides
Probably a token of some kind.
Maybe a token from the war.
Quite possibly. Thanks to both of you for the suggestion that it was a token. That makes total sense! Wish I could 'date' it somehow...token or not..
