Does anyone know what a dish like this would have been used for? It measures just 7-3/8" long (incl handles).

Either a celery or asparagus dish? Those dishes were usually made long for the long veggies.

It could only be used for that if those veggies were cut into pieces, which is possible. My first thought was possibly a hatpin holder but, if you search that, you see only pieces resembling a salt shaker. I tried various searches on Google, eBay, Etsy, etc., and nothing this shape came up.

      Thanks for your input.
