This curious item of Victorian glass caught my attention at a flea market around 17 years ago. Originally, it would have held a small posy vase, & I am still searching for an appropriate replacement. Constructed from 16 pale yellow - green uranium glass rods wired together, it measures 11 cm tall & 7.5 cm wide. It glows brightly under UV light.
The rods have a pressed pattern of three closely - spaced lines that spiral down their length, which creates an effect somewhat like candy canes. Unmistakably of English origin.

This is almost weird; I have never seen a vase stand like it. It almost has a Chinese feel to it like bamboo scaffolding.
      Awesome!

Many thanks! I'm all for the weird & wonderful both in my collection & in life! :-)
It does definitely have an Asian feel, well in line with the Aesthetic Movement of the late 19th century, which was heavily influenced by art from China & Japan.

I have the same piece but made of clear glass, a little longer, also lacking the glass container. I am still looking too.....

Thanks so much, glassiegirl, that it so interesting to see!
I have seen a picture of the same stand used to hold a matching vaseline glass posy holder with a rigaree, which was on the Vaseline Glass Collectors website. The fairy lamp is wonderful!
I actually have a few fairy lamps so will have to try one out in the stand...
