    cleaned out an old house. was given this sewing machine. has manual. The Light-Running New Home. plate says Patents Aug 2, 1887.

      New Home. The serial number should be under the front bobbin cover plate. http://janome.com/siteassets/support/faqs/orange-ma-and-rockford-il-dates-of-manufacture.pdf
