OK, this is one of the 'oldest' in terms of appearance items I've come across in going through my Grandmother's jewelry.
I've taken pics, including cat fur from a cat drive by while I was taking pics...sigh.
Found 12 KG stamped on the connector to the chain so it appears this is a piece that is genuine gold. Unsure whether the 'black' pearl looking item is a faux or real pearl..not a pearl....etc. Maybe it's not as old as it appears - the tarnishing on the chain is surprising.
I did find a mark, and due to shaped of item, it was very very hard to get a pic of..it looks like a 'CC' or 'GC'? This one is definitely a mystery to me...
We were hit with constant storms yesterday so natural sunlight was out and we lost power momentarily a couple of times...sorry if pics are not clear enough.
nutsabotas6 - lol...good idea.
As I'm going through all of this, I feel like I'm drowning in an ocean of jewelry but I realize that it is probably not as much as some inherit (inherit as opposed to acquired through buying/being gifted/gathering as a collector which may help on knowing what you're getting).
Thanks for the link!!! I'll go there now
OK, I found this via google - CC is likely Curtis Creations aka Curtman Co. of Providence, RI? Guess it's a good reminder that sometimes things are not as old as you think they are. The necklace is still old comparatively, but as for which 'decade', I'm not sure. (Wish CC stood for Coco Chanel...lol)
nutsabotas6 - I'm still totally willing to hear they are Chanel..LOL!
12KGF is gold filled, not 12KT gold.
I also think it's from Curtis Creations. Here's a bracelet on Ruby Lane with visible marks:

TY, Efesgirl, for the correction on KGF vs KT. That bracelet on Ruby lane was lovely. This necklace is a bit unusual for me in terms of design - it's simplistic yet...different.
The chain is SO fine, I would be hesitant to ever wear it..plus I think most women had VERY skinny necks back then..lol...
