I found a Lane Coffee table with style # 988-01 serial # 165080. I know the when it was made 08/05/1961 but I am having a hard time finding similar tables anywhere. I am refinishing the table and there are no major cuts, problems or issues with the table as it is in avg/good condition but just needs to be refinished which isn't a problem. Is there someone out there that can tell me a little more about this piece and why it is difficult to find others similar to it. Thanks again for any help.
Did you ever find out your answer to what series and/or designer this might be? I have a very similar table serial 161280 style no 988-09 and haven't been able to find out a thing about it either. Your's is the first time I've seen one similar. I know Paul McCobb was designing for Lane in 1961, but not sure this is his. I have to refinish mine too so curious how you did yours? Thanks!
I have some end tables in a similar design. 988-05 serial 166121. Was anyone able to find a style or design name. Searching the 988-xx leads to a completely different Lane style
