Vietnam War era trench art

Not really from the trenches, this medallion was created by a gunners mate in an arsenal workshop deep in the bowels of a ship patrolling the coastal waters of South Vietnam. It was made from the firing pin removed from a 5" cannon projectile.

1" diameter by 1/4" thick.
