    Here is a nice CDV of a Navy Capt, he is seated for the camera with a stern look and a Napoleonic view, I believe this picture was taken sometimes in the 1860's when he took command of the Portsmouth Naval shipyard in New Hampshire and July 16, 1862 when he was promoted to Commodore. The Back mark is identified as A. Gregory, Artist, Portsmouth. N.H.

    I have been trying to ID this CDV for sometimes and I think I have found him, I believe the last photo is of him as a Rear Admiral sometime around 1866.
