    Another of Grandma's brooches - sure wish it had a mark on it!

    Would be totally guessing on decade although pin on the back of the brooch is fairly simple.

      Maybe 1940s. Sometimes a "c" clasp normally used in earlier times sneaks onto a piece of jewelry from a later decade. I don't know if it's glass or plastic from the photo.

      Efesgirl - I definitely must read up on clasps! I can tell you it definitely FEELS like plastic. I think you're correct about time period because one thing I noticed my Grandmother was fairly consistent about is almost al the '1940's items' have come from the same jewelry box.

      One that was very popular back then. Lady XXXXX?? Her other pieces have been spread across much smaller jewelry boxes/cases but it's like when she filled up this one box, she moved onto others.
