I belive this is a earlier A & W advertising mug becasue unlike others, it is embossed glass and doesn't have an ACL on it. got it for 8 bucks.

I believe that mugs like this, with A&W in raised letters and no logo, were used starting in 1921.....and may have been used as late as 1947.
