Here's another nifty 'speaker stand full of knobs and meters' for y'all tonite! :-)
This is an old capacitor tester (I think?) from the US Army, I'm guessing its from the 1950's-60's, postWWII. Made by North American Philips Co., it is "Model ZM-3A/U". Amongst all its cool switches and the meter, the yellowish rectangle in its middle is actually a plastic 'window' revealing a 'scroll' kinda display thing immediately behind it inside the machine, which rolls up and down with the large black spinner knob to its lower RH side.
It was found at an estate sale a few yrs ago for a price that couldn't be refused... ;-) :-)
I have old meters and testers but I have to tell you that this is a nice one....
Thanks so much for the very kind comment freon -- and for the loves fortapache, Caperkid, and PhilDMorris! :-)
Further thanks to brunswick, bobby725, and buckethead! :-)
