Hi, I bought this from a church thrift shop, the label is Murano, yet I am not quite sure. It is 10 inches high, 15 inches is the widest point at the base and 7" is the smallest point at the base. I have seen similar Murano, yet I did not bookmark properly to compare....any ideas? I appreciate previous comments on my other piece, I usually never get pieces I am not sure about, but I couldn't resist...I have seen some beautiful pieces I never knew about, and I am supposed to be downsizing! I'm afraid to look at all your beautiful glass, as I want one of this, that and the other!
Although it's nice, it's more than likely Chinese or some other knockoff based on a few things... the label is a common one that's often found on Murano knockoffs. Another thing on the label is the word, "glassware". Murano does not make glassware. Another thing to look for, is the frosted base which is commonly found on Chinese or other knock offs. Murano's bases are typically smooth, shiny and finished - with the exception being specific decors that call for a rough exterior finish such as Scavo or Corroso. It's still an attractive vase but not Murano.
Thank you very much, I thought it was a fake for other reasons, inconsistency of design and other extraneous marks and imperfections. I was really not too fond of it, only purchased (for 5$) to sell it, but would never misrepresent anything I sell. "Glassware "is the dead giveaway, I can't believe I didn't think of that! Learning more all the time...
You're welcome Swedian That's the beauty of CW as we all learn from each other... welcome. : )
Ok,these are two pieces I have no idea about, I think it is pressed glass, not sure, I never bought anything like this, they were inexpensive for the joy they bring to me, if you know what I mean. I will post in mysteries again....and post my beauties as well
