While walking around Newark Fair I saw a Bernard Instone brooch which of course I went over to have a look, I was very tempted to buy but I have the same brooch in my collection so I decided not to. At the side of the brooch there was this ring, I thought the Citrine stone had such a wonderful deep orange colour and the facets are lovely. It as a lovely art and craft look I thought the ring was a beauty. Unfortunately if you look at the photo's there is damage to one of the prongs which as been broken off if you look at the other 3 every quarter they are folded outwards. The lady who was selling this ring said it could be Bernard Instone, I personally don't think it is, of course there are no markings but it tests for silver.

If anybody has an idea of who the maker could be that would be great.

    Many thanks for looking.

No idea here but it's a beauty. You will have to have that fixed to assure the stone remains right where it is, I'm sure you know that. I thought topaz and they are very close. I love the shoulders on this, simple and elegant!

Hi shareurpassion, I'd never even thought of Topaz I just presumed it was Citrine because the art and craft movement just love that stone, I'll look into it. Thanks for passing.

Hi bijoucaillouvintage, that was the first thing that caught my eye the colour it's amazing and it's quite a large stone so it really stands out. Thank you for your comment it's always appreciated.

I've just used my tester to check the stone and it goes off the scale, so therefore I think it might be synthetic.
