Shown is a mess kit belonging to my Grandfather from WWI that spent time in the trenches during the war between Germany and the European countries along with the United States. The American armies came late into the war, but provided the men, equipment, world power that was needed to tip the balance.
My Grandfather served in the 89th Div., 353rd Infantry thru our involvement in the war, right up to the very end in Germany.
The wall photo is a total of 42"s long showing the soldiers, but just the center is shown.
Thank You Again

GREAT WW1 trench art mess kit.
These mess kits made a fantastic "field" to document service. Yours is TOP Quality.
I am a fervent trench art collector and have a couple of these posted on here as well. Take a look at my other items if you have an interest.

Very desolate landscape.
That's a special item you have there and it's just beautiful! Love your bike too. I saw your comment on the weiner mobile, I'm in Cali and I remember that too! Loved those whistles. Do you remember the Helms man? That was So. Cal anyway as far as I know!

Thank you about the bike. I liked that one the most of all. That period of time in regard to (you called it right) the weiner mobile was sometime in the mid- fifty's
and it was in So-Cal. As children, we all kept our eyes and ears open for if not the
Helms man it was the Good Humor man. Kids had a good life in those days I feel.
