Wedding anniversary, birthday, and Father's Day for the next ten years was an easy trade for me to add another toy to my collection. The old west has held a fascination for me since childhood. John Wayne has been my hero since the movie "Stagecoach". This is a 1/16 scale model commissioned by Wells Fargo. It is approximately 27 Inches long. It was produced by the Franklin Mint. I love the accuracy and detail. The rear brake works.
bobby275. You're right!
That is a bit on the pricey side. Franklin Mint does make some excellent pieces. There was a Franklin Mint store near where I used to live in Torrance. Some great stuff there.
fort apache - Yes, it can be pricey. The stage and base with horses could be purchased separately. A complete package in the original box is highly regarded. I put this together with separate purchases of "as is" units. The defects are very slight and not noticeable. The total cost was very reasonable. Leaving a flaw to "let the evil spirits out" can cover a multitude of sins.
Very cool set ! And yes the detail is excellent .
Thanks Manikin!
Thanks again for the love and support on my top post :)
