This was "supposedly" purchased when my grandmother was on her honeymoon (around the 1930s) - it looks batik to me, but the fabric is thin, possibly a bit of a silk blend. It hangs at L62" and W20" - my mother said maybe Italian, my collector friend said Czech (yet my grandmother, I'm quite sure, never went there) Upon further inspection, it is a seems like a "cookie cutter tourist piece" as the backing is simply sewn with one seam and the support rods are plastic. Did they even have this style in the early 1930s anywhere? I am not a collector of textiles or things of this nature, so my knowledge is none. It's sentimental value is priceless, I just want to know the origin, even the continent would suffice! Thanks!
