This Victorian vase is made from two layers of cased glass - opaque white over a deep pink interior. The white contains uranium & glows brightly under UV light. The largest example of applied glass in my collection, it measures 34.5 cm tall, 14.5 cm across the double crimped top rim, & 10 cm across the base, which has a polished out pontil mark. There is applied decoration in amber of oak leaves, branches, & acorns. The acorns are rather small in proportion the leaves. The top rim also has an applied amber crest. Could be English or Bohemian.

Such beautiful work here. The crest on the ruffled rim is delightful.

Many thanks, racer4four...yes, it is something to behold!
I posted a photo of it on another glass forum some years ago, & was told that it looked like it had toffees stuck all over it...not much love for Victorian glass in some quarters, sad to say. Much friendlier around here! :-)
