I love collecting bug/insect jewellery, you know that...

But animal themed brooches, plique à jour enamel and paste jewellery are too part of my collecting frenzy !

So... here is my last prey ;-)

A pheasant, good size (5cm from beak to tail!), perfect condition!

Unmarked, gilded on back, C clasp and tiny red cabochon eye.

The pastes are set, not glued, and the Plique-a-jour has nuanced colors. I feel it to be Austrian or German, earlier than the 1920/1930 ones more easily encountered.

Thanks all for your support in my (our?) Collecting addiction! ;-D

Sigh. I have not yet found a plique-a-jour brooch I would want, except in posts on CW. It's gorgeous Pascale.

Phil, we regularly have the visit of pheasants in the garden during the hunting season, but now with the pointer doggies twins, they will have to avoid the area! Thank you my friend, XOXO.
