Hi,
I have a pair of beaded items that were purchased at a North Carolina auction. The piece measures approx. 16" in length. Does anyone have any information about the items. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Terri
Size and also photo of back would help someone ID it for you . Welcome to CW

Hi,
I added a few more pictures and the length of the item. Hope this helps.
Does it attach at the back of a dress?
I love the beaded work.
It looks like the original backing was falling apart from wear and love they used womens black hose to protect the backing . I just don't see Native American bead work although it is beautifully done . Hope one of the experts in native American bead work stops by .
Hi,
There is a button on both sides but I do not know if it attached to a dress.
This is very interesting. I would not have imagined that Native Americans would have used these colors, yet it has a very intentional feeling to me. I believe what I see there is a roadrunner and what might be a thunderbird yet it's in pink! I absolutely do not have any idea. Where did you find this piece. That doesn't necessarily mean that that is where it's from anyway, but very curious. It also looks like it is made on leather, is that right? These may be symbols and colors of a tribe I am not familiar with. and I can tell you that the beadwork here is very intense and took many hours of work to complete.
CanyonRoad, would know if they see it and if it is Native American . It was mended at one time in middle on bottom . Hopefully they will come by . I am not seeing it myself but would be curious what it was used for .
The pair were purchased at a North Carolina auction about 20 years ago. Hope this helps.
