Gsmalls
(1 item)
I picked this up from a garage sale in Nashville 10
years ago. I re-wired back then and the light worked
Trying to get information on this one.
C136 is stamped on the bottom
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
Gloria
Looks around 1946 era, they made a lot of these after WW2. The lighter appears to be upside down in the pics, usually they were wired and when turned they lit up.
Thank you. I have another one that is stamped Armitage Lamp with the number 936A. It's alot heavier than the above one. Have you seen/heard about any stands like this one?
Thanks for your help
Gloria
try researching slag glass smoke stands... several companies made similar products; including Houze, Akro AGate, Vidreo Products and others dating back to 1930s
TallCakes
Thank you!!!
After the war in around 46-7 they produced a lot in Canada also, I know the ones in Canada well from the research I did for years. I did not do research on the U.S. ones as I seen less of them in Canada here. I have seen the Canadian ones very similar to these but the ones in Canada were nicer in the fact that they used more classical ideas so the art deco aspect was a lot cleaner. The ones in Canada had nore refined glass agate pieces used also, which they never used here until around 1950.
