    Hey I paid 10$ for this knive at a flee market .. it says stainless Steel on blade and Pakistan .. also has a number 3 on the locking hinge ?

      It's a butterfly knife, I have about 7 of them. It's also illegal here in Hawaii.

      It appears to be post-1970. That's when the Paki knives started appearing en-mass. The butterfly knife has been around for over a hundred years but most that you used to see were from the Philippines and had been brought back by WWII GI's. They are easy to produce in a low-tech environment but superbly crafted ones exist. You paid about what its worth.
