It's what's commonly called an "anniversary clock" or "400 day clock" as it wound once a year on "the anniversary of its winding" or about every 400 days. The horological term for these are torsion clocks, as the suspended rotating weight provides the impulse to maintain power. They must be kept on a very solid surface and very close to level (front to back and side to side) as vibration from shaking on a wobbly table or such can cause it to stall out. Many clock repairers won't work on them because the customers don't know how to set them up properly. Yours is mid-50's to 60's.
