I am looking for any information regarding this noise maker. I am unable to find any markings or the maker. I was given this as a keepsake when I was born (NYE 1970) and the letter (signed by Vera Eastwood Mack)accompanying it says, it was about 50 yrs old when it was given to a friend of my mother's husband when he was a baby, for New Year Eve. I have no idea where he was born. I was born in Porterville, CA. It was never played with, as it was told to my mother, that it probably wasn't safe. Even though, I have had it all my life, I just discovered tonight, that it is also a whistle. If anyone has information, as to when it was probably made or where, that would be an amazing story to add to what I already know.
How big is this noisemaker?
Also, what is all that blue material around it? Ribbon?
It measures just about 5". Yes, that is ribbon around it. I don't want to remove the ribbon, but I've moved it around to see if I can find any markings, but I don't see any. The paint is still visible. Probably, because I was never allowed to play with it. I have found some that are similar but the paint is all gone. The ribbon is a peacock color blue with silver slivers running through it.
The problem with the ribbon is that it's blocking the view. :-))) Not possible to tell you who made it or where, as it has no maker marks.
Who is Vera Eastwood Mack?
I never met her but she was a family friend. I'be tried finding anything but am unable to find anything. I'm only guessing it was something mass produced since it was for New Years eve
Thank you for the response.
