Here is a really nice painted Dolphin maybe a Marlin? It's ceramic and in some areas the paint is raised, like the beams of light around the sun have raised dots and all around the fish are raised. No shine, just flat or matte and the dish itself is speckled. The back says "Hand Made No. 10", anyone have any idea who made this. I don't even know if I'm holding it the right way. He's very cool and would love to id this guy!
Thanks for any help you can give on him.
Enjoy!
No. 10 made it I think. Number 11 went more for killer whales and a crescent moon in black and red, and number 9 liked goldfish with a sunny yellow sky.
Dolphins like this are typical for Minoan art (Crete, Greece).
lol racer :-)
He looks like a frustrated or mad dolphin but it reminds me of Mexico or South America. Very unique piece .
LOL! Karen...thanks for the morning laugh! Much appreciated...great way to start the day ;)))
Ivan, thanks I will check into it. See what I come up with.
Mani, thank you. I know, Karen made me laugh too! Love that and I also thought Mexico but we'll see.

Inky, thanks for the love tap! It's great to see you again ;)
He's a sunshine :-)) I like the matte finish a lot. And actually the back of it looks equally nice and interesting!
It's such a cute piece Q! I too love matte finishes :)
I love things that make me smile! Thanks for sharing!
Hi bcv, thanks. I think so too. He's got raised areas of paint as well. Glad you stopped by. I appreciate it, even tho I'm late responding.
Thanks Rick. It looks very professional, don't you think? I learned about matte finishes back in high school when I finally got into an art class. I'm partial to them too. I always appreciate your kind comments!!!
Thanks vintage lamp, you just made me smile! You are very welcome. Thansk for the sweet comment!
