Enlarge to see the expressions on these kids==The little one with the doll looks like he has seen a ghost!!(Lower right) I tried to get them all in one photo. Not a good idea as some were darker than others. Tomorrow I will try a better photo. These are really funny and give an idea how hard it must have been to get a photo before kids were familiar with cameras. Vintage real photo postcards. (c.1914) (see #2 for the dark photo better but I cut the head out of range. ooops.) He is thinking "Let me out of here" Maybe he was ashamed of only having a diaper on for the photo?.Most have no shoes.
You can enlarge photo #1, twice by tapping it 2 times. Please do.
These are all from the same family which makes it even funnier to me!!
Collecting everyday kids and families has given me more fun than you can imagine. They do the darndest things . ( Just being themselves when not posed.) If I feel down in the dumps a quick look thru a vintage album leaves me tickled pink!!
Kids hate photos!
Gee if I had to stand in front of a camera 20 min I would not be smiling either :-) Thank goodness for faster camera's !
Thanks for taking a look!

I just realized half of these photos are "undivided backs" which make them
8 to 10 years earlier than I thought they were! 1904-07 aprox.
These kids are good looking babies and tots, the one with the doll looks like he/she may be really freaked out by it.It would be a "hoot" enlarged and framed on a wall!
If the camera that took these type pictures was the kind that stood on a stand on the floor with the photographer's head covered with a large black cloth it is no wonder these kids looks so upset. I think this could have been just a regular" kodak" hand held camera tho.Just a quick click?
I'll have to rely on someone who knows which was used in this timeframe to tell us.
