I Aquired this beautiful lamp for only $80 on Craigslist. The seller had no information on it, just wanted to get rid of it. I am an antique/vintage lover. Everything in my home is older than I am! lol I fell in love with this when I first saw the picture. They did not have a price and I started not to inquire thinking they were asking for large bids. So glad I contacted them! I was surprise to find that they only wanted $80, and it was worth the hour trip away to pick it up. I am looking for any information on this lamp. It's about 60" tall and has 6 lights total. The lamp light at the top, then 2 lights below, and 4 lights further down under the glass table. All of the lights work independently of each other. My color scheme is burgundy/wine and sage green. As you can see it fits beautiful in my setting. Surprisingly the shade had a small rip that I repaired and have faced against the wall. This lamp is so beautiful when lit. I have it on a dimmer switch, so I can tone the lighting down.
I would say early 70's from what I see. I have a set my father had with orange prisms this is similar to. His has the date of 1973 or 73 on it. There was a large import export business that was going on from 1966 to early 80's. Few were marked and my fathers set had 2 ceiling lamps which were not marked. This may have been made in Italy as Italy produced a lot especially with the table lamps. A lot of their tables were of interesting designs and I bought my fair share of them in the early 1990's as there were many in garage sales at that time. A lot of the glass bases of lamps were fitted with a light with a beautiful diffusing cylinder which gave a wonderful soft glow to the light.
These lamps, or the castings (parts) were manufactured by L&L, it was a company in northern jersey which closed its doors in 1976 or 78 they started production of lamps in the 1940's
Definitely a statement piece!
