I was never happy with the finish on this late '30's German mantle clock. The finish was too dark and had hidden 90% of the natural grain in it's veneers. So here it is again, with a lighter stain and hand rubbed french polishing complete and waxed.
love these !!
Paul, the clock turned out beautifully. Try to use natural light when posting pics, it really helps to showcase the wood grain better. I love that you use the French polishing technique, I'll have to try it with my next clock project. Keep up the great work!
Thank you both, comments are most appreciated. Bryan, french polishing to professional standard, is remarkably easy to perform. If you need any advice or tips, don't hesitate to contact me. You are right with the natural light.
