The "Organizers" made of corduroy for the Singer Featherweight are not often seen. Pictured are both styles #1 & #2 (note the angle of the Singercraft Guide). They were offered to machine buyers in the late '30's as an "incentive". A variety of tools stored in the pouches and under the straps can be seen but always seem to include a Singercraft Guide, a thimble, large & small screwdrivers, a lint brush, a Threader/ Seam ripper and a width guage. When found, they are on series "AE" & "AF" 221 cases. They are "Prized" collectables for Featherweight hoarders...
Thanks for looking,
Pam & J.C. Elliott
A quick note regarding the "Corduroy Oganizers";
The machine accompaning the Style #1 case has a "Birthdate" of Oct. 10, 1938 and the 221 featured with the #2 style case is dated "December 5th, 1939". This Feathweight also sports the "Top of the Arm" "Singer" decal - another feature not often seen.
We just acquired a 1947 Featherweight (serial # AH215....), but it is in a case with the #2 cordouroy organizer. The only accessory in the organizer is the Singercraft Guide. There is no tray in the case. Someone possibly put a newer machine in an older case??
Rod,
Can you tell me more about the case i.e., type of handle, leather, are there corner support posts for a tray inside the case? etc...
So little info is available, about the organizers, it's hard to say whether or not they were still available in 1947...
You'll see a variety of tools kept in the various organizers btu always a Singercraft Guide,a thimble, a Threader, and seam guides, screwdrivers..
Thanks,
J.C.
