I purchased this from my niece yesterday. She kept trying to give it to be but I know she needed the money. She has some amazing crystals that she sells from x-tra large to very small, and this one caught my eye. As I lifted it from the table, I was very surprised at the weight! 5 or 6 pounds 6.75" tall x 4" at the widest point with the base 1.75". Not one of my favorite creatures, Jelly Fish and you most likely feel the same if you've ever been stung by one but it's the work that went into making this that amazed me.
On-line I found that is claimed to be Murano Cendense, (spelling?) anyway, the person says it also glows in the dark and that's what I thought it might do when I saw it, but I don't think it does and I was too wiped out last night to find out.
So...Is it Murano? The bottom looks as if it was polished to a shine that has long since changed from being scratched over the years. Even the color of the glass shows it too being very old. It gets almost a grayish tone to it.
All your thoughts and opinions are important to me and I appreciate each one, so please feel free to have at it!
Thanks all!!!
See if it does Glow, as that would be neat !! The bottom looks to frosted to be murano, but just opinion. Nice PINK too !!
Hi Rose, unfortunately it does not glow, but it's still very cool, right? Thanks for stoppin in...you know I appreciate you!
Thanks for coming by and hitting that love button, bb2, Rosiegirl, aura and Thomas. Much appreciated!
Very cool. Is it an actual jellyfish?
It would be neat to have a lighted base under it.......I have some lighted bases here that I got like at the Dollar store for the Etched crystals blocks...
What a lovely organic piece a wonderful presentation of creatures of the deep !!!!!!!!
I've seen these many times Sue, and they're Chinese. Still pretty though :)
Would be beautiful at night with a small light base underneath.
Fort, the answer to your question is no. It's a grouping of bubbles that make the shape. It's very interesting to see, it actually looks like there are two or three jellyfish in there. It's a grouping of clear bubbles encased by another layer of purple-ish pink then another layer of clear And that's just a guess. It's very interesting to see and try and figure out just how this was done! Thanks for stopping in to check it out!
Rose, that is what my niece told me that a lot of people put the light boxes under them. I'll have to see if I can find one and photo it that way. I'll add it when I do get one. That would be really interesting, right?!?
Malkey, I agree. I wouldn't have thought I would get something like this but it's just so cool I couldn't pass it up! Thanks.
Hi Rick, I sort of figured that mostly from the bottom but have to say, they have done a real good job at this one. Thanks for stopping in!
Yes Phil, I will be looking for one soon to see how cool it looks then. I'll give a shot at a photo to post like that. Thank you!
Thank you to all that stopped in to see this oddity, yes, I'm talking about the paperweight! haha xoxo
I bought two today from people who make them. They are moon jellyfish in lucite that they color and add something to make them glow. Not antique, mine were made near San Francisco.
Here are some Chinese examples from Alibaba and Rikaro Sue...

Forgot to add this. These are the current pieces for sale on eBay. I didn't look at 100% of them, but the ones that I could see are all Chinese.

Thank you everyone...here I go again. Totally forgetting to come back to do the thank you's! I'll get it figured out one day!
Say Rick, they definitely figured out how to do the weight correctly! This piece is heavy.
