Hi there folks.
I've had this paperweight for a while now and have simply come to the absolute end of anything I can research to identify it.
Its a little thing, couple of inches wide and less than that tall. really, it looks like a peeled mandarin orange (clementine I guess depending on where you are) with the shape and concave bottom.
The piece is signed but here's the problem. There is at least 2 signatures, one over-top of the other and the only really identifiable bit is the year 1985.
It has what I feel are a little odd pulled and feathered lines in the base emanating outward. The only reason you are seeing them in the photo, along with the sig, is the talc that I added. Otherwise they are nigh on invisible and indeed, I completely missed the signatures for the first week I had the weight.
I haven't even been able to find a weight that I felt was close enough in appearance to even call similar, so that's how tough this has been.
It really is a lovely little weight making up for what it lacks in size with great color and unique design. It will be a real shame if it goes unidentified.
Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated.
Very pretty not sure myself, can see the names either. Maybe this friend in the UK can help you. He studies Paperweights

Thank-you very much. I have reached out to him for help. Cheers.
keep us posted on any finding.....and maybe try to post another pic here of the signature ( more on a angle to read it better )
Thanks, I'll post another photo with a better shot of the sig. I didnt initially because, as I mentioned, you cant even see it without talc and even then its so garbled only the date is discernible. maybe a set of fresh eyes though as I have been staring at it quite a while lol. thanks again
That photo is a bit better but far from great. Honestly though I dont think even if it was crystal clear it would be any help with the engraving being all jumbled together the way it is.
