I have had this choker necklace for 20 years and never wear it for fear of losing it. So, Recently I decided I'd like to sell it and the matching earrings but I would rather not if it's as old as I'd hope it would be. I'd love it if there's anyone out there that can tell me...Who is it by? When could it have been made?
Sadly there are no marks to help ID it in any way.
The Blue stones are unusual and I've only seen one piece of jewelry with the bright blue/ turquoise color, could this be a distinguishing characteristic detail?
Rhinestones came in all kinds of colors. It is difficult to discern if you have a special or hallmark blue. Problem with posting things on the web is that people will see different 'blues' depending on their browser and so forth. For example, if I see something I want on the web, and I can get a swatch or a sample I will. I am not a jewelry collector but I do know that, when looking for dating a piece, it helps to show the clasp.
The necklace has A hook instead of a clasp, I hadn't thought of showing it thank you
vintage, as in 40's 50's is my guess. I have a number of rhinestone (dif. colors) pieces of my grandmas and I only found one on the internet, for sale by someone< for about $50.00 US. Just a guess due to the hook closure instead of clasp type, all hers have that hook and a larger rhinestone on the end for the hook to fit around to secure it.
