We were given this enamelware water pitcher and basin set by a dear friend who was downsizing. She really didn't have a lot of information for us. The set is comprised of 4 pieces two with lids, The Water Pitcher stands 14 inches tall and its widest point from the back of the handle to the tip of the pitcher is 12 inches, at the bottom, it is 7 inches wide. The basin is 15.5 inches in circumference and is 5 inches deep. The soap dish with lid 6 inches by 4 inches. and the vented dish is 9 inches by 4 inches. It is all comprised of enamel the main color is cool white color. The design looks to be a stylized wheat design. Although I could be really wrong about that? It does also have speckles throughout especially on the inside of the basin. The wheat design is a deep royal blue and a robin's egg blue with an accent of a mustard color. Only the water pitcher and basin are marked on the bottom. I have looked for a similar marking all over but to no success. It appears to be a crest of some sorts with four initials J M M K Sometimes when I look at it looks like an eagle or bird at others I see the silhouette of a woman?
The number 508 appears on both pieces. We really cherish this set but we would love to know more about it. There are no other markings that I can see. Other than some wear and tear and someone's horrible attempt to repair the enamel where it has rusted. They did great matching the enamel material, but the color is way off. I looked over lots of sites to find one like it style wise or subject matter and I am turning up with nothing which is how I came to this site. I am hoping someone will be able to enlighten me and help me to discover more about our mystery set.

I have a feeling this may be from Europe. It's not unusual to see repairs on enamelware as the finish is like glass and breaks when dropped or hit. Usually they used mendits which is basically a bolt and screw.

      Make that nut and screw.
