I found this little piece of glass in a charity shop today, and I find it fascinating how it has been made. The base is well made with a polished pontil. I have no idea where it was made or when, and I am hoping someone here does know?

I think your basket could well have been made in Bohemia during the 'Renaissance Revival' period 1870-1880. These baskets were popular in this period and were made inspired by the 'Dutch Rococo Verticulated' glass baskets to be seen in some Dutch and German museums. Similar baskets are sometimes made by 'Murano' glass blowers, but I may rule this possibility out, based on the polished pontil of your vase.
