I guess this is "Show & Ask" ....
I have had these parts to a cast iron stake truck lying around for years (got them in an auction lot as you see them) and just came across them again.
My sense is that they could be to a Hubley or Arcade vehicle, probably military themed given the star, but have no real idea since I can't find anything they seem to fit in my reference books. Do they ring a bell with anyone here? I would greatly appreciate any help with an ID.
Still looking for any possible information on this.....
They are Hubley, They go to the diecast 46 Ford stake truck made in 1948 -1950. There would also be a tail gate.
Thanks, Tom! I'd about given up hope of a reply.... The tail gate is there in the photos ~ at least I assume it is the tail gate.
I have done searches on ebay and google, but the only examples that come up are Hubley pick-up trucks with the cast iron sidewalls which have a circular cut-out to allow them to fit over the rear wheel wells. These pieces obviously are from a different style of flat-bed truck from those. And the star emblem is also throwing me off. No examples to be found yet.
Have you seen this exact style on a Hubley vehicle and was it a military type truck?
I should have a photo of that truck. I figured the end piece you show was the front rack but I think it's the same as the rear or tail gate rack. The one I remember was orange and had no markings on it. I'm interested if selling. Tom
I would very much appreciate a look at the correct vehicle for these pieces, Tom. Let me know if it will appear here or if you wish me to contact you thru your website.
Sure, Contact me from my web site http://www.azdiecast.com and I'll email you a photo from a Hubley ad. Tom
