This set belonged to my grandma. Manufacturers tag is from Abernathy Furniture Co in Kansas City. Loveseat has been recovered over original fabric and rocker is original but in poor condition upholstery-wise. I saw another very similar rocker on here, same feet, rockers, curved arms and it was thought to be empire style. Would love to know its age. I have not been able to find any other furniture like this style that this company manufactured.

Later 19th century, 1870 and possibly up to 1910 but not later than that. The style is called American Empire, heavier shape and a more simple shape than French Empire.

I sent pictures to an online appraisal company which told me the set was very common and the market for this type of furniture was very slow. They valued it at about $100 which I thought was extremely low. What is your opinion on that appraisal?
