Hi, I purchased a ADAMS & WESTLAKE RAILROAD LAMP ADLAKE-KERO LANTERN from a yard sale recently. This is my first purchase of a RR lantern. It is marked Adams and Westlake and 3-39 on bottom. I believe that it was made third month of 1939? Anyhow, I am stumped as I was not sure why it did not wheel to turn the wick so I opened it thinking wheel part was lost. It does not look like the other burners that I have seen pics of so I was wondering if someone could tell me what type of burner assembly this piece has? I can life out the kerosene cup and it has a small turn thing on the side of it but no clue as to what this is. I would like to know more if anyone knows anything and can educate me on this that would be great! Also, glass globe is red and marked CNX Corning Made in USA on it. Is globe original or replacement??

Aircraft mechanic's saying: "When all else fails, read the instructions". LOL ! That's a new one on me & I want it explained. HEY, gang. Does anybody know how this works ? Does that "butterfly" in the middle screw in & out ?
