I now have three of these. Rare examples of the work of the German manufactory Royal Bonn, circa 1900, from their prestigious "Ruysdael" line. Named after the 17th century Dutch landscape painter, Jacob van Ruysdael, this line was the result of Royal Bonn's concern over their ability to compete against the likes of Royal Copenhagen, Bing & Grondahl and Sevres at the upcoming 1900 Universalle Exposition in Paris. After enlisting the talents of multiple German ceramic technicians, Royal Bonn produced the Ruysdael line.......specifically for the Exposition. The result was a gold medal.
