I bought this at a thrift store because I loved the frame but after I cut the paper off the back I still can't find any marks to identify the person in the photo or the frame. Some writing was on the swollen middle piece nailed to the back but has since smeared and faded and is completely illegible. Any comments welcomed here! Thanks!

Good Luck! Probably someone living near or in the city where the Thrift Store is located.

Agree-- it is a nice frame. As a photo collector, I can tell you the vast majority of antique images out there are not identified.

Thanks scottvez! I appreciate the insight. Do you have any idea as to the period or manufacturer of the frame and/or photo?

      I'd think early 20th century.
