I believe the heart-shaped surround was used by the BurleyWinter company and the crown by the Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Co. (RRPCo.)
i found the burley winter one online but can't seem to find one with the number 6 on it . im assuming that means 6 gallon. didn't know if maybe it was rare or not
The information below is from another collector site:
Thank you for your email. The blue heart mystery continues. Just today I saw one of these jugs (a 5-gallon one) listed for sale on an antiques mall website for $1200! The seller says the blue heart jugs were made by Tarzana Pottery Company of Tarzana, CA. She also says this company was owned by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the author who created Tarzan! I have no idea where she got her information and I have not been able to verify it.
Tarzana, CA is an area of Los Angeles and Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950) did own and develop property there. The area was named Tarzana in honor of him, but a town profile doesn’t say anything about Edgar Rice Burroughs establishing a pottery company there or any pottery company having been located there at any time.
