Okay so again this week I'm at a thrift store and I see this guy on the shelf. I must say I've never seen this style before when it comes to art glass fish but I can most certainly appreciate the level of skill it took to make this piece and its a great conversation piece for the coffee table! The problem is I don't know anything except I paid $8.99 at a local thrift shop! LOL.. So if any of you more seasoned collectors have insight for me that would be awesome! I can say he's 8" tall, 10" long, and 3 1/2 " wide, The signature in picture 2 above looks to be a tenured professional signature as much as it is illegible to me its also precise and purposeful in my opinion. The artist has a unique signature and it's dated 2007. Any help is a huge blessing!! But If not enjoy!
Very colorful and unique !
I believe it's studio glass, the signature leads me to believe that. My instinct says California.
That's a seriously cool fish.
Hi BigE. I remember this fish! So cool, but I don't think it's Japanese, just based on the style.
That signature is hard to decipher! Generally Japanese artists either don't sign at all, sign in Kanji, or use just their family name in Romanji, and they are usually very legible signatures. I have yet to see a Japanese glass artist date their work (maybe it's a cultural thing).
Sorry I can't help further!
