This is a green, screwcap medicine bottle. It measures 5.25" x 1.25" x 1.25" give or take. The seams do not go over the lip. Very nice bottle with solid letters that read Pineoleum on the front. It also has a very rusted top. The back says Net 100 cc and the bottom has the oval with the circle and the I in the middle. To the left of that symbol is a 3 and the right is a 6 and below is a 5. Will show picture of back with 100 cc at a later time, I forgot to picture that part. Help dating this bottle would be appreciated.
Nice color on your bottle!
The diamond/oval/I mark stands for the Owens-Illinois Glass Co.
The #3 mark says the bottle was made at the Fairmont, WV plant.
The #6 mark indicates the year which would be 1936. If there is a dot or period after the 6 it would be 1946.
The #5 mark is a factory mold code.
Thank you so much bottle-bud. Does this go for all bottles, or most bottles? I am referring to the dating of course. Have a great weekend!
The marking system in reference is only for bottles manufactured by Owens-Illinois.
Good to know, thank you.
