I got this on Ebay for about $35.00, this Marx motor is a 12 volt motor,
but was tested with a big 6 volt battery, this motor runs only forward.
I'm not sure the exact date of when this was made. Iv'e seen this DC motor in a prewar and postwar version. The one thing I do know is that this Marx motor is extremely rare. This Marx motor has almost no time on the pick up's. Honestly I think it just has wear from testing.
This is a steam train motor, but I'm not sure to what steam train.
I don't know much about this motor or was I able to find anything on it.
I'm posting it so the Marx train collectors know it's out there.
I just display it as you see, but with tags the say ( do not run this motor: DC electric only)
if I were to guess a date range of when this post war motor was made I would say 1940's very early 1950's, but that is my best guess.
