Beautiful 3-strand necklace, flea market find from today. I paid 3 EUR for this beauty! Pity there is no mark, but I am sure this is a higher-quality stuff.
The necklace is heavy. The black stone on the clasp is prong-set, but it does not appear to be glass, its relatively warm, more like plastic.
Length without the clasp: the shortest strand cca 45 cm, the longest one cca 60 cm.
1950s / 1960s?
What puzzles me are the beads. The "red/black/green" ones are heavy and cold to touch, I would say either glass, or, probably, natural stone. Could this be jasper? Did they use natural stones in such necklaces?
The black matte beads are a mystery to me. They are cold, but I dont think they are glass...nor metal. They are not the same shape. When tapped, they give a higher sound. What can be the material used?
I would be very thankful for your opinion on the necklace!!
I can't help you identifying, but it's a very beautiful necklace, I love the red/black/green and the matte / iridescent mix!
I agree! My new favorite. Glad you like it!!
Oh, pretty pretty! Interested to see what people say about the beads.
thank you pebble!
Thank you valentino!! So very interesting - yep, come to think of it it might be basalt / lava thingy!!
