Found this tool in a box we won at an auction. The tool was in its own wooden box. There were a lot of Soldering Irons in the main box as welll. Any idea what this is called or used for? There is a stamp that states 401 ?
Pictures and narrative don't say much. Based on what I see it is a flux syringe for fine soldering. They aren't made of metal anymore. This is a throw away world so they are made cheap. Depending on the tip it may have been used by a jeweler or a circuit board solderer doing repairs.
I have a spring loaded syringe tool for sucking solder from joints. Maybe that is what it is.
