This is a 1940's German-made Casige Chain Stitch Toy Sewing Machine. It was designed for young girls/boys to learn how to sew. I have included a picture of the original condition of it, and did a careful partial restoration to stabilize it for the time being. It obviously has some serious defects in the paint, but for 5 dollars, I couldn't resist. It's an adorable little machine, and a great little collectible to have in my house. It just makes me smile looking at it. I carefully polished out most of the removable metal pieces, oiled the entire unit, and will go back and use a dremel to polish the pieces that were riveted to the unit. But, I have other machines to deal with too. :D
