Greetings all - I found this little button pin and was hoping someone new what the letters stand for. It measures 3/4" in diameter and it has a lithographed image of a blue triangle with an open hand in the middle and the letters L C S in a reverse triangle pattern. Inside the back is small paper label that says BASTIAN BROS MFRS OF RIBBON, METAL & CELLULOID NOVELTIES, ROCHESTER, NY Would also like to know how old it is. Thank you in advance
l'm still looking for what LCS stands for but I think this was from the late 1930 to early 1940s
Wonder if it was a Charitable Society (hence the helping hand image?) - like the Lincoln Charitable Society or something...just an idea!
That could well be it there Hunter, It was the road I was on with the helping hand also just couldn't think of a L Charitable Society VERY well could or even likely is Lincoln.
(most I've seen say 1930s)
Also maybe the Ladies' Charitable Society? Louisville Charitable Society? lots of options. ;)
Thank you for your help. I didn't really find anything on the Lincoln Charitable Society but I did find a small mention of the Lutheran's Charitable Society during the Depression - but alas no imagery to go with the pin. You are awesome.
