As a child I remember seeing this porcelain trinket box in my grandmother's house (Her parents came from Poland). For some reason, she allowed me to keep the teeth which I lost inside this trinket. She married my grandfather who fought for the Germans in WWI and was sent to prison camp in America.
He died before I was born but I have been fascinated with their background which is why I still proudly display this piece, even though I don't know where or when it was made. On the bottom is a blurry word which begins "sch..." or "scm..." If you pick up the lid you will see my collection of teeth!

What can the cut out slot be for? I love " forget-me-not" flowers!

That slot is part of the mystery! Maybe for the scent from potpourri to be released?
